Needless to say, the Curacao license is not our favourite, and we wish more bookmakers offering their service to customers in India would hold further international licenses. It goes a long way towards ensuring trustworthiness and safety for the customer.
As such, we tend to judge sportsbooks with only a Curacao license based on their own merits. We scour the internet for reviews and comments from actual users. Oddly, in the case of Sky247, not many reviews are available online. Those we did find were good enough, though not necessarily enthusiastic. None were overly negative, which is good to see. The same is true for customer comments. Some had good things to say, and some were not very happy with Sky247. The usual mix that we get for just about every bookmaker or online casino out there.
From what we can see, Sky247 is doing a decent job ensuring their customers’ safety and security, paying out wins and providing a fair service. We found no issues that were worrisome, though we do have reason not to recommend the use of their current (rather old-fashioned) sportsbook. Instead, stick to the betting exchange and you’ll be fine.
Cricket betting and other sports
The betting exchange at Sky247 is powered by Betfair, which is just about the best platform you can possibly get. It is simple, easy to use and most importantly, tried and true.
At the time of our review, the betting exchange offered markets for cricket, soccer, tennis and kabaddi. That’s not a lot but certainly the type of sports most punters from India are especially interested in.
The sportsbook offers additional sports to bet on, but since we didn’t like the sportsbook as a whole, we would not really recommend that you use it. A new sportsbook seems to be launched soon, so we are hoping it will be better than what is currently available.
In any case, cricket betting events to bet on at the exchange are:
- Bangladesh Premier League
- ICC U19 World Cup
- International Twenty20 Matches
- One Day Internationals
- Super Smash T20 (men’s and women’s)
- Big Bash League
As well as other events. The selection is excellent and covers many countries and leagues. There was plenty of live betting as well as pre-match betting available.
Of course, betting at an exchange has its limitations when it comes to the availability of additional markets that traditional sportsbooks usually offer. But you simply can’t beat the odds you get here.
Given that the current sportsbook just isn’t very good, feels old-fashioned and even leaves you questioning whether it is real and safe to use, we recommend you stick to the betting exchange at Sky247 if you choose to sign up here.
Games and more
Sky247 also hosts a small online casino with a few hundred games provided by six developers. Chief among them are Microgaming and Playtech, which means you get some pretty solid games here. Overall, the selection is somewhat on the small side, however. The main advantage is that you are getting the Age of the Gods games from Playtech, which typically come with progressive jackpots that can grow considerably.
The live casino is worth checking out as there are several well-known providers, including Evolution Gaming and Ezugi. You’ll be able to play favourites such as Andar Bahar and Teen Patti as well as a great range of live dealer games that are sure to provide a lot of fun.
Indeed, the live casino is the much more interesting offer in comparison to the regular online casino. We wouldn’t mind seeing more providers there, especially since we know that the sister casino already works with the likes of NetEnt and Yggdrasil.
Promotions and bonuses
The welcome offer at Sky247 has been around since 2018 and is valid for the foreseeable future. It’s different to most other welcome offers you typically see and we quite like it. New customers can claim a 24% cashback offer, which is applied to all net losses accrued during their first seven days of betting and gambling at Sky247. The maximum cashback amount is INR 10,247, which is not too shabby.
And as is the case with cashback offers everywhere, you will indeed get cash back, which means there are no further wagering requirements. More importantly, the offer really is applicable to sports betting and casino gambling.
Beyond this welcome offer, customers can grab a few other promotions and bonuses as well, most of which are ongoing. There is a daily casino cashback offer, which gives you 7% and up to INR 24,700 back every day between specified times. Or grab the weekly free bet worth INR 247. A deposit bonus of 21% and up to INR 2247 is available every week as well. And you can get a bonus for referring your friends.
As you can see, the number 247 plays a prominent role, but a lot of the offers are worth checking out and its entertaining to see how this number was implemented in each offer.
Scroll down to the bottom of the homepage and click on any of the payment method logos, which will take you to the dedicated page for payment options at Sky247.
Here you will find a list of deposit options available to customers from India, applicable transaction limits and other details. Here, too, the number 247 plays a curious role as the minimum deposit for all methods is indeed INR 247 and the maximum is INR 247,000 for most methods.
In any case, you’ll be able to use the following deposit options:
- Credit Card
- Net Banking
- Pay Global
Most options are available for regular or instant deposits and incur no additional fees.
The site only lists bank transfer as a withdrawal option, which is rather limited and means longer transaction times. The maximum withdrawal amount here would be INR 700,000.
Interestingly, the terms and conditions mention a fee that is due if faster or express withdrawals are requested. So, whilst it costs you extra to get your winnings sooner, it does seem to be possible.
The terms and conditions also state that customers must have their ID verified before their first withdrawals, which means you should really go through the KYC process right after signing up for an account here.
The customer service at Sky247 is, of course, available 24/7. You’ll be able to reach the team via various social media channels such as Telegram or WhatsApp as well as old-fashioned email and via live chat. When you click on the little grey speech bubble, you’ll be given the option to check out a few FAQs or launch the live chat right away.
There is another way to visit the FAQ section by simply clicking on the link labelled accordingly at the bottom of the page. You’ll also be able to browse the terms and conditions and various other links with further information.
Overall, Sky247 is doing a good job here and you should not have many problems getting your questions answered.
When you launch the Sky247 homepage, the black and gold design looks modern and a little fancy. The layout is tidy, the menu looks clean without any unnecessary gimmicks. It is a pleasant design and navigation is easy.
The only section with subcategories is the sports section, where you hover to expand the submenu to access the betting exchange, the sportsbook and kabaddi betting. There is also an announcement for more sports coming soon. We are seriously hoping that a new sportsbook will be launched there as the current sportsbook (of which kabaddi is merely a separate section) is awful. You’ll be taken to an external site that is old-fashioned, unattractive and not great to use at all. That’s why this is more a review for the betting exchange than the actual sportsbook.
The betting exchange is powered by Betfair, and you can tell because it very much looks like it. Also, a little old-fashioned but easy to use and convenient.
The mobile page is very similar to the desktop page in all aspects, which means there is no improvement to the sportsbook. Alternatively, you can download a mobile app directly to your phone when you visit the mobile page, though it is not clear whether this is available for iOS and Android or just the latter.
The app seems to focus more on the betting exchange, which is a good thing here.
Sky247 feels much newer than it actually is. What baffles us is that there are so few reviews available online, though we also couldn’t find anything worrisome about them and their sister site BetBarter left a good impression with us.
There are a few things we like about Sky247, which includes the betting exchange, the clean design (for the most part), the easily accessible information and the bonuses and promotions. Their live casino is also good and offers some solid games for fans.
The sportsbook is one of the worst we have seen when it comes to design and user-friendliness. That doesn’t mean you don’t get solid markets here and a good variety of sports to bet on. We just hope that there will be a new sportsbook sooner rather than later, which we will hopefully be able to recommend without hesitation.
