The Women's Ashes 2022 is underway and unlike the men's series, this is a multi-format series where points are allocated for each win. The first T20 was won quite easily by Australia Women and it now has a chance to wrap up the T20 series with a win in this next match. England Women actually played exceptionally well but were just beaten by one of the most dominant outfits in the history of all sports.
The cricket betting sites are offering up odds for Australia as the favorite and these odds seem to have increased a bit after the excellent performance that England gave in the first match.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Australia Women vs England Women 2nd T20, Women's Ashes 2022. The match is going to be played at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on the 22nd of January 2022.
Australia goes into this contest easily as the favorite. It was faced with a huge chase in the first T20 and honestly did not even break a sweat while doing so. 170 for 1 in 17 overs shows the complete domination that the Australian batters had over the English bowlers. Also, the batter that missed out was Alyssa Healy, one of the most destructive batters in women's cricket!
Meg Lanning played well and Tahlia McGrath starred with 91 not out, however, these are not the only world-class batters in the lineup. Grace Harris, Rachel Haynes, and Ashleigh Gardner are all good enough to be the best batter on other women's cricket team on the planet.
This depth in batting and a belief that it can win from any situation gives Australia a huge advantage.
The bowling attack for Australia has been a bit weaker than we are normally used to seeing and it gave away a lot many more runs than it would have expected in the previous match as well. Still, Tahlia McGrath, Megan Schutt, Taela Vlamynck, and Jess Jonassen should be strong enough to cause the English batters a lot of problems. Don't underestimate the bowling lineup even though it does not seem to be in the best form right now.
Meg Lanning, Alyssa Healy, T McGrath, Rachael Haynes, Ashleigh Gardner, Grace Harris, Nicola Carey, Jess Jonassen, Alana King, Darcie Brown, Megan Schutt.
England would be left scratching its head after losing the first T20. 169 is a massive total in women's cricket and would have almost certainly been enough against any other team. It is actually difficult to see England do anything more than it did in the first match. That can put additional pressure on the batters that they need to set up huge totals in every match that they play. It may just be better for England to chase in the next few matches.
England's batting lineup is not weak either. It has Danny Wyatt, Heather Knight, Tammy Beaumont, and Nate Sciver. All of these players in the WBBL and are used to playing on Australian pitches against all of these Australian players. They don't have the depth in their team that Australia does but that is true for everyone in the women's game right now!
England will be hoping to improve its bowling performance, though. It could never put any sort of pressure on the Australian batters even when the target it was defending was massive.
Katherine Brunt, Sophie Eccelstone, Nate Sciver, and Sarah Glenn have the talent and variety needed in their lineup. They just need to be able to execute their plans correctly over after over.
Tammy Beaumont, Danielle Wyatt, Natalie Sciver, Amy Ellen Jones, Heather Knight, Sophia Dunkley Brown, Katherine Brunt, Charlotte Dean, Sophie Ecclestone, Sarah Glenn, Freya Davies.
The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bat first. The general strategy in the women's game is to set a large target and then put pressure on the chasing team.

The conditions in Adelaide for this match are not the best. There is rain forecast on match day and it could be that irritating type of rain that keeps falling for long durations. Hopefully, the downpour will miss the Adelaide Oval. The pitch was superb to bat on in the first match and that is going to be the same for the second one as well. The bowlers are going to have to work very hard to get anything out of the surface. We think 150 is about par for the venue.
We are going to bet on Australia Women to win this match. They have the best batters in women's cricket in their lineup. They are also superior to England in terms of power and speed. The bowling attack for both teams are pretty similar but Australia is always going to edge ahead because of its batting depth.
Bet on Australia Women to win.
