The Canterbury Kings are having an excellent season of the Super Smash and they further cemented their second position with a win against the Auckland Aces in the previous match. This next contest is again between the same two teams.
The Auckland Aces are also in the hunt for a playoff spot. They have played seven matches with four wins and so a win this one will put in the third position with the same number of points as the Canterbury Kings.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Canterbury Kings vs Auckland Aces Super Smash 2021-22. The match is going to be played at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch on the 18th of January 2022.
The Canterbury Kings pulled off a tricky chase with quite a bit of ease in the previous match. Cam Fletcher continued his brilliant season with 57 not out from just 39 deliveries. That inning included four sixes as well. Chad Bowes and Ken McClure also batted quite well to lead the Kings home.
We have seen the Canterbury Kings bat quite well in most matches of the Super Smash and the previous match just showed how strong they are in this aspect.
Ed Nutall and Cole McConchie were the two standout bowlers for the Canterbury Kings in the previous match. Both of them kept the runs down and picked up some crucial wickets as well. The Canterbury Kings may not have any big names in its lineup but it is certainly proving to be a very good and reliable T20 outfit.
Chad Bowes, Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Cole McConchie, Cameron Fletcher, Mitchell Hay, Henry Shipley, Matt Henry, Todd Astle, William O'Rourke, Ed Nuttall.
Glenn Phillips played a spectacular inning at the top of the order for the Auckland Aces but he did not get much support from the other batsmen. Not having Martin Guptill and Mark Chapman available for this match was always going to be a disadvantage but the lack of batting depth appears to be more serious than we previously thought.
George Worker and Glenn Phillips are going to lead the batting challenge in this match as well. If these two get out early, we think the Auckland Aces are going to fold like a pack of cards.
The bowling attack also revolves around a couple of players. Lockie Ferguson is world-class and picked up the most wickets for the Aces in the previous match as well. he has Will Somerville for support but not much else.
This lack of depth could cost the Auckland Aces heavily in this next match as well.
George Worker, Sean Solia, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Robert O'Donnell, Ben Horne, William Somerville, Lockie Ferguson, Ross Ter Braak, Adithya Ashok, Benjamin Lister.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to field first.

The conditions in Canterbury are expected to be good for cricket. There is no rain predicted and the Hagley Oval will serve up a batting beauty. The dimensions of the ground are quite big, especially when compared to some of the other grounds in New Zealand, and that brings the bowlers into play as well. The batsmen should still be able to score freely although you may see fewer sixes than at other venues.
Something around 160-170 should be par batting first.
We are going to bet on the Canterbury Kings to win this match. They certainly do not have the big names to attract a lot of attention but their consistent performances cannot be ignored. More of their players are in form and they come into this match beating the Auckland Aces comprehensively in the previous match.
Bet on the Canterbury Kings to win.
