The second match of the Global T20 Canada is going to be played between the Montreal Tigers and the Winnipeg Hawks. The opening encounter has given us a good idea of how the pitches are going to behave and that will allow us to assess the teams a bit better.
Gt20 Canada has managed to assemble an impressive roster of cricketing stars and both the sides competing in this match are stacked.
Montreal Tigers vs Winnipeg Hawks GT20 Canada 2019 is going to be played at the CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario on the 26th of July 2019.
There are some very big names in the squad for the Montreal Tigers. Players like George Bailey, Sunil Narine, Thisara Perera, Fawad Ahmed, Dinesh CHandimal, Sean Abbott, Keemo Paul, Kyle Coetzer, and Matthew Cross have all been drafted in the Montreal Tigers for the upcoming season.
Not all of these players are going to be available for the first match. There is a series between the West Indies and India that is about to start while the first match of the Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka series is also imminent.
Having a player of the quality of George Bailey is huge for the Montreal Tigers. Not only is he a very underrated T20 batsman but he is also a very good leader of the cricket team. George Bailey is going to be responsible for getting this talented group of individuals to perform as a team.
Fawad Ahmed is going to be the leg-spinner while Sean Abbott will provide the fire. Keemo Paul is a very useful T20 all-rounder to have in your side while some well-known associate players from Scotland and the UAE make up the rest of the names.
The overall side is quite balanced and there is a nice mix of experience with youth. We would have liked to see a little more batting firepower in the side but that may not end up mattering on a sluggish surface.
Matthew Cross, Mohammad Naveed, GJ Bailey, Nikhil Dutta, Anton Devcich, Dillon Heyliger, Fawad Ahmed, SP Narine, Kyle Coetzer, Bupinder Singh, Sean Abbott.
If there was a seeming lack of T20 power in the Montreal Tigers then the opposite is true for the Winnipeg Hawks. The team management has selected a squad that is filled with T20 dashers that specialize in hitting the ball a very long way.
Chris Lynn, Dwayne Bravo, JP Duminy, Dwayne Smith, and Umar Akmal are all batsmen that play with a very high strike-rate. That is a good thing and makes the Winnipeg Hawks a dangerous opponent to have.
We are excited to see what Chris Lynn can do on some of these small boundaries once he gets his eye in. The pitch has been a bit slow and this is why someone like JP Duminy can also be very dangerous in this match.
Duminy is good at picking up the pace of the ball and maneuvering it into the gaps.
The bowling looks a little thin for the Winnipeg Hawks. Shaiman Anwar, Hamza Tariq, Sompal Kami, and Rayad Emrit are some of the people that are going to be a part of the bowling unit.
The bowlers who use their change of pace to fox the batsmen are going to be successful here. This is why we recommend picking Dwayne Bravo as the bowler to pick up the most wickets. He is an expert at making the most of his bowling and his experience of playing in T20 leagues around the world is going to come in very handy.
Dwayne Bravo, Jean-Paul Duminy, Dwayne Smith, Umar Akmal, RR Emrit, Paul Van Meekeren, S Anwar, Sunny Sohal, H Tariq, Kaleem Sana, Umair Ghani.

Brampton, Ontario. A clear and sunny day has been forecast in Brampton for match day.
The pitch was a little sluggish for the first match but that was to be expected. The groundsman said before the tournament began that there was excess moisture left in the pitch to help it last the duration of the entire tournament.
We think a score of around 160 should be seen as par at the surface.
The Montreal Tigers have a better-balanced side with more bowling variety at their disposal. The Winnipeg Hawks, though, have more power in their batting and they appear to be a better chasing side. On the kind of surface that we expect, however, we think the Montreal Tigers have a better chance of success.
Bet on the Montreal Tigers to win.
