Multan Sultans, the defending champions of the Pakistan Super League, are once again in the PSL Final and will be playing against the Lahore Qalandars. This match promises to be a closely contested one among two teams that have proven themselves to be better than the others by a fair margin.
Multan Sultans defeated the Lahore Qalandars in Qualifier 1 but the Lahore Qalandars are also the only team to have defeated the Multan Sultans in PSL 2022. In a high-pressure final, anything can happen as two quality teams go up against each other.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars PSL 2022 Final is going to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on the 27th of February 2022.
The Multan Sultans will be the favorites going into this contest but they will know that they can take nothing for granted in this contest. Tim David, one of their batting mainstays was unavailable for the Qualifier as he tested positive for COVID. It is highly unlikely that he will take part in the PSL 2022 Final either.
There is still a lot of batting depth in the team, though, as Shan Masood, Mohammad Rizwan, Rilee Rossouw, and Johnson Charles should all be a part of the lineup. Masood and Rizwan have been very consistent but they may feel a bit of pressure to be more explosive without Tim David in the lineup.
Rilee Rossouw and Khushdil Shah both have a terrific strike rate and we know that David Willey or even Johnson Charles can play attacking cricket when needed.
In terms of batting, Tim David's absence will make a difference but the Multan Sultans still remain the stronger batting unit in this contest.
The bowling lineup for the Multan Sultans can be put under a bit of pressure but the fact that Shahnawaz Dahani had a good game last time around is a positive for them. David Willey, Imran Tahir, and Khushdil Shah will all be hoping to use the slow surface to their advantage as well.
The Multan Sultans are predictable in their strategy and that is because it has worked for them. They have won ten out of the eleven matches that they have played, an incredible success rate, and so they just need to repeat the same processes this time around as well.
Mohammad Rizwan, Shan Masood, Tim David, Rilee Rossouw, Aamer Azmat, Khushdil Shah, David Willey, Imran Tahir, Asif Afridi, Shahnawaz Dhani, Rumman Raees.
The Lahore Qalandars snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in their previous match. They seemed to be dead and buried before a brilliant bowling performance from Shaheen Afridi, Zaman Khan, and Haris Rauf pulled them back in the game. Also, David Wiese's contribution should not be forgotten.
The kind of bowling firepower that the Lahore Qalandars have is just phenomenal. They can ramp the pressure on at any time and are never out of the game.
They just need their batsmen to support them as well. The focus is going to be on Fakhar Zaman, the best batsman of PSL 2022 by a distance. He may have failed in the previous match but he is not someone that you want to bet against.
The rest of the batting, though, looks a bit thin. Phil Salt and Harry Brook could find the conditions a bit tough and Mohammad Hafeez has been out of touch for almost the entirety of PSL 2022.
Kamran Ghulam and Abdullah Shafique are two good Pakistani players at the top of the order that can make an impact. We don’t think this batting lineup is as good as the Multan Sultans but it is not too weak either.
Finally, you have to consider the advantage of playing at home in front of a cheering full-house. Players like Shaheen Afridi rise up to the occasion and the PSL 2022 Final is one of the biggest ones of all.
Zeeshan Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Kamran Ghulam, Harry Brook, Abdullah Shafiq, Mohammad Hafeez, D Wiese, SR Patel, Shaheen Afridi, Zaman Khan, Haris Rauf.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. That should be seen as having a big advantage since the pitch slows up considerably towards the end of the second inning.

There is absolutely no rain forecast for match day so DLS calculations are not going to come into play. As far as the pitch goes, it has become quite slow and the big hits become difficult towards the end. Staying ahead of the rate while chasing is crucial since new batsmen can find it hard to start quickly.
We think a score of around 160-170 should be seen as par.

We are going to bet on the Lahore Qalandars to win. Speaking from purely a cricketing perspective, the Multan Sultans have been the better team but they are likely to be without Tim David in this match and their bowling is a bit suspect as well. The Lahore Qalandars have a better bowling attack, are playing at home, and have a number of players that shine on the biggest stage.
To get slightly better odds on them to win this match is quite good.
Bet on the Lahore Qalandars to win.
The Over/Under line for Fakhar Zaman is a bit high but his record in PSL 2022 has been quite fantastic and so we are still tempted to bet on him scoring more than 25.5 in this match. We think Fakhar Zaman also matches up very nicely against the Multan Sultan bowlers and will end up scoring freely.
The boundaries at the Gaddafi Stadium have been brought in a fair bit and six-hitting has been quite easy. Also, the pitch may have slowed up but it is still flat and batsmen can take advantage after getting their eye in.
Most Fours in the Match
Lahore Qalandars (2.15)
The odds available for this betting market are brilliant and well worth the risk that you will be taking. We don't think there is too much of a difference in the batting lineup of the two teams and so chasing the odds in this makes sense.
