Jamaica Tallawahs and Trinbago Knight Riders are both hovering in the middle part of the points table in Caribbean League 2021 and it is just about the time that they kick-on from here if they want to qualify for the next round. Up next in the tournament, they are set to face each other in a match that could prove to be a turning point for the two sides. The match between the two sides is to be played on Sunday, 5th September 2021 at Warner Park Sporting Complex, Basseterre.
Trinbago Knight Riders started off as one of the favorites to lift the title, but they certainly haven't played like that. They have struggled more often than not and seem to be a tad too over-reliant on Kieron Pollard to do that business. Having said that, they are still pretty much in contention to finish progress to the next round.
As it currently stands, they are placed fourth on the points table with four points and a net run-rate of 0.391. They are coming off a tie, which Guyana Amazon Warriors won by winning the super-over. Before that, however, the Knight Riders won the match by 27 runs and that should boost their confidence.
All in all, Trinbago Knight Riders have a decent side on paper, but they have been lacking in the execution. A lot comes down on the shoulders of Kieron Pollard and while he has been in good form, he has lacked support. If Pollard manages to get the support of his other players, Trinbago Knight Riders would be the team to beat in this competition.

Jamaica Tallawahs got off to a terrific start to the tournament, beating St Lucia Kings by a massive margin, but have blown hot and cold ever since. They were then defeated by Barbados Royals but then defeated them in the reverse fixture.
As it currently stands, the Tallawahs are placed third on the points table, but a win here will push them to the second spot. Also, they have a terrific net run rate of 1.365, which can come in handy if things get tight towards the end of the league stage.
On paper, the Tallawahs have a fantastic side with the likes of Andre Russell and Carlos Brathwaite available. However, their top-order hasn't really fired consistently and that has been the reason for their on-and-off kind of performances. If their stalwarts manage to fire in the upcoming match, beating them is going to be a colossal challenge.
Haider Ali, Rovman Powell, K Lewis, Kirk McKenzie, Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite, Jason Mohammed, SI Wasim, FH Edwards, Christopher Green, Migael Pretorius.
It is an important match as the winner will climb up the ladder whereas the losing team will likely move out of the top four, at least for some amount of time. Considering the two sides on paper, they seem to be having similar issues. However, Trinbago Knight Riders are just a little more experienced and that could be a huge advantage in crunch games. Back Trinbago Knight Riders to emerge on top in the upcoming match.
